Yoglo

This event was organized by Lululemon during iLight at Marina Bay 2016 in line with their new Duxton store opening, which will be happening very soon. It’s been quite some time since the last mass yoga event and I was really excited when I first knew of this from the iLight festival website! iLight is basically just some festival at night, going on for a 3 weeks, showcasing sustainable light art. This event happened towards the end of the festival. Around 700+ people turned up and it was really nice to be doing yoga under the stars and the beautiful city view of Marina Bay Sands, Art Science Museum, Singapore Flyer and the high rise buildings of your CBD. Truly a unique experience. I’m so glad I took time off for this event. I was physically tired for burning my long weekend away at YTT, but the energy and good vibes from this sure recharged me from the hectic week.

The event started at 7pm with HIIT which I didn’t participate in. At 8pm, the yoga session commenced, led by Betty from Updog Studio and Brittanie from Alpha Life. The yoga sequence was well paced and was very enjoyable.

As though this event isn’t amazing enough, Lululemon made it even better by distribution FREE (un)mats for every participant! There were many colours going around and all of them are still selling in stores.

Luckily I arrived really early despite not knowing of the free mats and I got to choose my colour from a wide range. I chose the Porcelain/ Chalk colour. The (un)mats honestly isn’t the best mat around because it’s only 1.5mm thick, and is intended to be layered over another thicker mat. It’ll be good for use in studios where mats are dirty or if you’re travelling and do not want something bulky. I have to add though, this mat isn’t very light. So the purpose is just for the surface really, which is as good as their thicker mats. It’s essentially a layering mat for the good grippy surface.
